Apparently I goofed when posting my last article, and it stayed in the drafts. Ouch. Anyway, it’s fixed now.

Fantasia and Diana DeGarmo were in the same group (group #1) their season. And I’d say Fantasia did pretty well, even though she was in the first group. Jennifer Hudson was also in that group, and I honestly think one of the reasons she went out so early was that the other two were in the same group, and they kind of grabbed all the attention (or pimping) from the get-go. That year there were four groups, so it should’ve been even easier to forget group #1 if your theory held. Which it pretty much doesn’t, considering both the winner and the runner-up were in that group.
- Maybe, but it’s worth noting that Fantasia spent time in a bottom group – the last winner to do so. She won, yes, but it wasn’t as smooth a ride as winners of late have had.

And it’s Martina McBride, not Melinda.
I addressed this in the proper thread, but:

As for the Martina/Melinda mixup; it’s fixed.
